Located on the southwest side of downtown Indianapolis, IN, Indianapolis Spring Truck Service has a long history of serving our customers dating back to 1936. Indianapolis Spring is a full-service heavy-duty vehicle repair center specializing in alignments, brakes, suspension, steering, automatic lubrication, and air conditioning for semi-trucks and trailers, refuse trucks, dump trucks, construction equipment, fire trucks, buses, pick-up trucks, RVs, and more. It also has the capability of on-site fabrication and repair of tubes, hoses, and brake lines. Our Field Service Technicians based out of Indianapolis Spring are certified by the Mine Safety and Health Administration for work at surface and underground mines.

The Mine Safety and Health Administration, a United States Department of Labor agency, promotes safe, healthful mining workplaces, and prevents mining deaths, illnesses and injuries. 

MSHA Part 48 training is mandatory training received by miners, supervisors, construction workers and independent contractors who work at mining operations.   Our field technicians have completed and maintain certification of Part 48 training.  This gives them the ability to provide on-site service of surface and underground mining equipment for the quarry and aggregates industries including pit loaders, front shovels, dozers, off-highway trucks, excavators, articulated trucks, yard loaders and engines/generator sets.

Heavy-Duty Vehicle Technician

Position is Day Shift, Monday – Friday.

Position Details

Our Heavy-Duty Vehicle Technicians primary responsibilities include inspection, diagnosing and repair heavy-duty vehicle suspension, brakes, steering systems.  Additional responsibilities may include DOT inspections, alignments, and preventive maintenance (oil and filter change).  The typical types of vehicles are Class 3-8 trucks (semi’s, fire trucks, dump trucks, box trucks, etc), buses, recreational vehicles, trailers and pick-up trucks.  Safe working conditions, no nights or weekends, competitive hourly pay plus incentives (no flat-rate pay), drug-free workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a heavy-duty truck technician, mechanic, or other related fields
  • CDL license or willing and able to obtain (Paid for by us!)
  • ASE certifications or willing to obtain
  • Knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Driver’s License (Required)
  • United States work authorization (Required)
  • GED, High School Degree, or College Degree (NOT REQUIRED)
